Riverview, Florida-- According to a School District of Hillsborough County release, students from Riverview High School and South County High School will compete to create carrot-themed culinary masterpieces this weekend.
On Saturday, April 21, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., students from the two schools will compete in an iron chef-style competition at the Rolling Pin Emporium.
Each team of four students will submit their recipes, discuss the dishes with judges, and create an appetizer, main course, and dessert for presentation to judges-- all of this without prior preparation.
Teams will be judged on taste, the use of the themed ingredient, carrots, and their presentation.
The winner of the competition will compete in the final competition against Durant High school, who won over Tampa Bay Technical high school on April 14.
That event takes place the following Saturday, April 28.
According to the release, all participants receive a Rolling Pin Kitchen Emporium gift card, and winners will receive an 8” Wusthof Classic Chef’s Knife and cookware/cutlery/utensils for use in school.
The Rolling Pin Kitchen Emporium is located at 2080 Badlands Dr., Brandon, Florida.
