The fire burned trees and grassland and destroyed two mobile homes on Foxye Lane. No one was seriously injured.
The fire was near I-75 and the Florida Highway Patrol closed the southbound lanes of the interstate for about an hour because of smoke. An entrance ramp was also closed much of the afternoon because of smoke and flames.
By late afternoon, all traffic lanes were once again open.
The fire's cause had not been determined.
