Go fishing in Ruskin for charity | News
Ruskin, Florida -- The SouthShore Professional Fishing tournament will be held at The Resort and Club at Little Harbor, 611 Destiny Drive, Ruskin on Thursday, May 10 and Saturday, May 12.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit charities serving the children of the SouthShore Communities. These include the Rotary Club of South Shore- Ruskin, YMCA Camp Cristina, and the Rural Social Services Partnership.
The tournament will include a children's fishing activity, a Captain's dinner and a professionally run fishing tournament. The lead Captain for the tournament is Danny Guarino. Captain Danny, a regional director of the Florida Guides Association, has lived and fished the Tampa area his entire life.
Thursday, May 10
4 - 6 p.m. - Children's Tournament an opportunity for children to learn about fishing from the dock. Limited to 60 children aged 6 - 12. Registration includes fishing and other fun activities. $10.00 per child accompanied by an adult $15.00 for for two children with one adult.
7 - 10 p.m. - Dinner with the captains and anglers. The event includes meal, entertainment and a silent auction. Individual tickets available for $50.00
Saturday, May 12
7 - 9 a.m. - Breakfast and Registration
9 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Fishing Tournament
4 - 6 p.m. - Supper and Awards
Entry fee includes team tickets to Thursday's Captains Dinner with entertainment and silent auction; Friday's tournament includes your team's trip with a professionally licensed captain, boat, fishing equipment, meals, tournament bag, and awards dinner.
