Driver killed in Gibsonton school bus crash identified | News

Gibsonton, Florida -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has identified the driver killed in a crash with a school bus Thursday afternoon as 64--year-old Elie Saintil.

Deputies say around 1:15 p.m., Saintil drove through the intersection at Symmes Road and North Street and into the path of the school bus. The bus hit the driver's side of the 1997 Chrysler Sebring. 

Saintil died at the scene. The passenger in the car, 33-year-old Mikel Robin, wad taken to Tampa General Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

There were no children on the school bus at the time and the driver of the bus, 62-year-old Mary May Dees, was not injured.
