Machine recount for River Bend CDD Race to take place

Tampa, FL - The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office has announced a scheduled recount of the River Bend Community Development District race for tomorrow at 4 p.m.

The recount is "in accordance with section 102.141(7) Florida Statutes" and "section IS-2.031 of the Florida Administrative Rule," the announcement explains.

Free HART services for those in service

Hillsborough Co., FL-- Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART) will offer free rides to commuters who show a valid military I.D. on Veteran's Day- Sunday, November 11.

According to HART, the free rides are for retired military members, active duty military members, and family members/dependents of a military member, though the promotion is not valid for use of HARTPlus service or the TECO Line Streetcar System.

Nominations open: 2013 Hillsborough County Women’s Hall of Fame

Tampa, FL-- Know of a Hillsborough Country woman worthy of being inducted into a Hall of Fame? Well now is your chance to submit your nomination.

The Hillsborough County Commission on the Status of Women will select up to three outstanding women to induct into the 2013 Class of the Hillsborough County Women’s Hall of Fame, and they are accepting nominations now through November 16.

Esurance to host Career Fair events in the Bay Area

Tampa, FL-- Esurance, an online car insurance company owned by Allstate, plans to rapidly expand their presence in the Tampa Bay area. In order to do so, they intend to double the size of their current Tampa office by hiring tons of new people!

As of now, Esurance representatives say they have 20 current sales openings to fill. They will host three career fair events in various Tampa Bay locations for those interested in the positions.

U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics: Tampa area leads state in job creation

Clearwater, FL- WorkNet Pinellas and the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance have made giant strides for employment in the greater Tampa Bay area over the past couple of months.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the two companies combined placed 6,135 individuals into employment in the month of August, and 10,560 in the month of September-- adding up to a total of 16,695 people jobs for people in the greater Tampa Bay area.
