Town 'N Country, Florida - Residents in northwest Hillsborough County can get sandbags in the Town 'N Country area.

Recent rains have filled ditches and ponds and there may be more rain on the way if Tropical Storm Isaac follows its forcasted path.

"Hillsborough County is making sandbags available to the public from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., starting August 23 at all three County Public Works Service Units:

FEMA's Hillsborough DRC closes Saturday

Hillsborough County, Florida -- Tomorrow, July 28 will be the last day residents can visit the FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Center in Hillsborough County until 6 p.m.

The center is located at the University Area Community Development Center at 14013 N. 22nd St. in Tampa.

Residents in Hillsborough who still need face-to-face help can visit the 3 remaining centers located in the Tampa Bay area.

Tampa Bay -- FEMA released the following updates for counties affected by Tropical Storm Debby.

A FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Center is now open in Hillsborough County to help those survivors whose homes and/or businesses were affected by Tropical Storm Debby.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

FEMA reps arrive in Hillsborough to help storm survivors

Hillsborough County, Florida--  A two-person team from Federal Emergency Management Agency Community Relations is on the ground in Hillsborough County to help those impacted by Tropical Storm Debby. This team will be going door-to-door to help those residents who need financial or other assistance understand how to register for federal assistance.

The FEMA team will be in our community working seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for as long as there is a need.

Health Advisory issued for 4 Tampa beaches

Tampa, Florida-- Hillsborough County saltwater beach monitoring results revealed traces of enterococci bacteria, resulting in a Health Advisory for four Tampa Beaches:

  • Ben T. Davis, (North, and South)
  • Cypress Point, (North, and South)
  • Davis Island
  • Simmons Park

According to the Health Department, this should be considered a potential risk to the bathing public.

Samples taken Monday were above threshold for enterococci bacteria, and the beach will be re-sampled Monday, July 2, 2012.
